Oh, so many to choose from.
Recently though, my favorites have been "Choke" and "Diary" by Chuck Palahniuk, "I Am Charlotte Simmons" by Tom Wolfe, and my current obsession, "The Reality Dysfunction," by Peter F. Hamilton, in my opinion the greatest science-fiction author in all of Britain.

The Extended StarWars Universe (too many books and series to count) Nightfall The independant Command The Robots of Dawn The Enchanted Forest Chronicles (three books) The Eye of the World (ten books and couting I think) The Belgariad (six books) The Simarilion (three books) The Elenium (three books) Chronicles of Narnia (seven books) Redwall (the series is like ten fifteen books and still counting)
And man, this is just my short list, you should see my bookshelf

The Extended StarWars Universe (too many books and series to count) Ohmigod. I LOVE those books. I've read all the New Jedi Order ones and they were fantastic, I like science-fiction a lot too. If you're looking for other good science-fiction books to read, try any book by Peter F. Hamilton, preferably starting with "The Reality Dysfunction." One of my favorite books ever.
