Goddamn, you know, earlier today my dad and I went to see Crash! and were pleasantly surprised. I just love watching random movies that I know nothing about and then ending up loving them.
Any of you people ever seen Magnolia? You know, that movie that involved a misogynistic Tom Cruise, a paranoid cocaine addict, and a large amount of batshit insane amphibians? Anyway, if you liked Magnolia you would fucking love Crash! Starts out pretty much the same as Magnolia; a bunch of different people on different storylines and ends in a similar fashion: all the storylines combine and you see how everyone connects to each other.
I'd say it's even better than Magnolia.
I'd say my favorite part of the movie was went the black director guy went all crazy and shit and started to attack the criminals who tried to steal his car. That was a great mark-out scene.
Even if you're not into movies that make you think, watch it anyway, as it has a large number of famous actors. Sandra Bullock, Matt Dillon, Brendan Fraser, rap artist Ludacris, that guy from Picket Fences, and possibly Sarah Michelle Gellar.
Also, if you like movies that teach you a message (for instance, "racism is bad") then you'd like this movie. It teaches you a lesson ("racism is bad") in the way that it is played out. The whole movie is pretty much about racism in Los Angeles; I think you see about four different ethnicities in the movie: White, Spanish, Black, and Iranian. The way the differenct races interact with one another is pretty hilarious. Especially when it involves two black carjackers and the owners of the cars they steal.
Watch this movie. If you only watch one film this year, watch Crash!
